My name is Andy Wilson. I was born in the city of Manila in the Philippines on July 25, 1984. I was adopted by my parents, Linda and Kenneth Wilson when I was eight months old. I grew up in New Market, went to school at New Market Elementary, and graduated Jefferson County High School in 2002. I have been very fortunate to have grown up in such a wonderful community and take pride in my family and heritage.

I attended Walters State Community College, where I studied Music Education. I graduated in the summer of 2004 with an Associates Degree in Music Education. I transferred to Carson-Newman College in the fall of 2004, where I continued my Music Education endeavor until the spring of 2005. I felt led to switch gears and pursue Elementary Education. I have always wanted to be a teacher, but at the time, I never would have thought about teaching elementary school. However, I quickly realized that elementary school was my calling, and I have never looked back since. I graduated Carson-Newman in the winter of 2007. I was hired on as a substitute teacher in January 2008 for Jefferson County Schools. I soon took over as an interim teacher in Second Grade at New Market Elementary School. At the close of the spring 2008 semester, I was offered the full-time position as a new Fourth Grade Teacher at NMES. I taught Fourth Grade for three years, before moving to Third Grade. In 2009, I decided to go back to college to attain my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. I am proud to say that I received my degree and graduated with high honors in 2010.

In 2012, I married the love of my life, Michelle. We have five children: Tyler, Tori, Jeffrey, Allie, and Joey. I am so proud of each of my children. They are amazing! Tyler is currently taking online classes to get his degree in Mathematics/Computer Science. Tori is a Junior at East Tennessee State University, studying Pyschology and Sociology. Jeffrey is a Senior at Jefferson County High School. He wants to pursue a career in social work/Early Childhood Development. Allie is in Nineth Grade. She wants to pursue a career in General Surgery, and plans to attend Duke University when she graduates high school. Joey is in Seventh Grade. He has an interst in law enforcement and wants to be a police officer. He plans on attending Walters State Community College.

This is my 10th year at New Market Elementary School. This school means so much to me. I am so blessed to work with such wonderful, caring, and compassionate people, who truly touch the lives and make a positive impact on every student who walks in this special place. I have been so blessed over the past ten years as an educator, and I look forward to many more years in the classroom, making a difference in the lives of my students.
