I grew up in a small town along the beach in Swansboro, North Carolina.  It was there, when I was in fourth grade, I knew I wanted to become an educator.  I loved my teachers and everything about school.  Later my family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee where I graduated from Carter High School.  After high school, I attended Carson-Newman College.  I graduated CNC in the spring of 2006 and began my teaching career at New Market Elementary in the fall of 2006.  I absolutely love teaching!  I love working with kids and getting to know them.  I enjoy teaching because I love learning.  Every day is a new adventure.  Each day I get the opportunity to make a positive impact in a child’s life. Teaching is a such a rewarding job.  “To love what you do and feel that it matters—how could anything be more fun?”

While in college, my husband and I got married in July of 2002.  We don't have any children, but we do have 2 dogs and 2 cats.  Our pets are our babies.  My husband and I like to travel.  Luckily, my husband travels quite a bit for his company which allows me an opportunity to see many other cities.  I especially enjoy visiting the beach.  When I am not at school enjoying my time with my students, I am with my family.  My family is very important to me and I love spending time with them.  I'm thankful for each day and blessed beyond measure.  I am a goal getter and want to inspire others to achieve the impossible.
